Investor Driven

The Huron County Development Council is an investor-driven organization.  Our primary source of financial support comes from the Huron County Commissioners.  Cities and villages financially support the organization based on the population of their communities.  The remainder of our operating budget comes from private investment from businesses and individuals that recognize the important role HCDC plays in the economic growth of our county and region, grants, and our annual fundraiser, the Huron County Development Council golf outing.  All investors have a seat on the HCDC Board of Directors and are invited to be active participants in assisting HCDC accomplish our organization’s mission.  Our investors serve as ambassadors of our organization and are our “eyes and ears” in their respective communities.

The Huron County Development Council was incorporated in 1983.  The organization was affiliated with Ohio State University Extension until 2009 when it became a separate, independent, entity.
The Huron County Development Council serves as the Community Improvement Corporation for the majority of Huron County!
